The college plans to expand the width of the sidewalk between Tremont St. and Boylston Pl.

The college plans to continue an evening construction schedule of the sidewalk until Oct. 5, according to an email sent to the community on Friday.

The construction will go from 7 p.m. to 3 a.m. to complete work on underground utilities with the loudest noise planned between 7:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m.

After Oct. 5, workers plan to shift to a daytime schedule from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. until December.

This is part of the college’s plan to widen the sidewalk from the corner of Boylston and Tremont streets to the entrance of Boylston Place. The college is also planning to add benches and planters to the sidewalk, eliminating the parking lane on Boylston Street in the process.

The construction is split into two phases with the first finishing in December. The second phase will begin in April 2020 and finish in September.
