The college is hosting a replica of the Central Perk coffeehouse set from the television series Friends starting on Thursday in the Cutler Majestic Theatre lobby.

The set is one of 30 replicas being built around the world and marks the 25th anniversary of the launch of the sitcom, according to a college press release. Emerson alum and Board of Trustees member Kevin Bright ’76 was an executive producer of Friends and plans to make an appearance in the theatre for the celebration on Sept. 22.

“I hope you will join us for the festivities as we celebrate this special anniversary, in congratulating Kevin on the monumental success of this enduring show,” President M. Lee Pelton said in an email to the student body on Tuesday.

The set is scheduled to remain in the theatre lobby until Sept. 23rd and will include the show’s orange couch, the centerpiece for Central Perk, the coffee table, and mugs.
