Events on campus: April 16-19

Many students and organizations host events at Emerson and broadcast them on EmConnect’s event page and fliers on bulletin boards around campus. The Beacon’s Living Arts section went through the events for the next week and picked out a few that seemed interesting.

Sketch Writing Workshop

On Thursday, Emerson Independent Video will host a sketch writing workshop. Students will learn about the basic outline and structure arc for writing television sketches. The workshop will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. in Walker 520.

Spring 2019 Book Launch

Undergraduate Students for Publishing, or Pub Club, will host their end of the semester book launch on Thursday in the Bill Bordy Theater from 7 to 9 p.m. Books for sale are Bird Folk by junior Antonio Weathers and Here, There, & Everywhere by senior Rebekah Scarborough. Each book costs $8 and proceeds will be donated to charities 826 Boston and Boston Scores.

10th Cirque de De-Stress

Therapy dogs and massage therapists will be at the Co-Lab in the Iwasaki Library for de-stressing during finals on Friday from 1 to 4 p.m. Snacks and crafts will also be provided. Sign-ups for time with the dogs and massages can be made online or at the event the day of.

Asians Got Talent

Asian Students for Intercultural Awareness, or ASIA, will host a talent show featuring singing, instrumental performances, and dances by students from Emerson, Berklee College of Music, and Boston University. The free event will be held at Center Stage on Friday from 7 to 10 p.m.
