Solo artist Michelle Zauner of Japanese Breakfast performed a private concert for Emerson students on April 2 in the Paramount Center. Two student bands, Squitch and The Pool Boys, opened for the college radio WECB–organized event.

The 30-year-old musician performed the song “Boyish” from her Soft Sounds from Another Planet album and “Everyone Wants to Love You” from her Psychopomp album. Zauner told the audience that Paramount was one of the nicest venues she had seen in her time performing at colleges. She joked that she expected to be performing in a computer lab. She also mentioned that Emerson was her second choice for college. Zauner ended up attending Bryn Mawr College in Pennsylvania where she had an independent major in creative production.
