Incident Journal

The Incident Journal is provided to the Beacon weekly by the Emerson College Police Department. Beacon staff edit the Incident Journal for style and clarity, but not for content.

 

Monday, Nov. 13

A student reported harassment. The incident is under investigation.

 

Thursday, Nov. 16

The Office of Housing and Residence Life turned over a folding knife to ECPD confiscated from a student. The knife was confiscated because it violated student housing policy, not because possession of the weapon was illegal.

 

Friday, Nov. 17

A student reported their personal property was stolen while off campus.

 

A staff member reported finding three hypodermic needles inside a bathroom. The needles were collected, secured, and sent for proper disposal.

 

Monday, Nov. 20

OHRL turned over confiscated marijuana to ECPD after Resident Assistants discovered a strong odor consistent with marijuana in the Piano Row Residence Hall.

 

Tuesday, Nov. 21

A student reported an unknown individual defrauded them inside the State Transportation Building.

 

Wednesday, Nov. 22

ECPD found the exterior door to the Barnes & Noble Bookstore unsecured. A check of the store showed no signs of a break-in and officers secured the door.

 

Thursday, Nov. 23

OHRL turned over a bong to ECPD. The bong was confiscated from a student during room inspections in the Hemenway Residence Hall.

 

Saturday, Nov. 25

ECPD investigated an alarm at the Piano Row Residence Hall. The alarm was caused by a leak in the building’s fire pump sprinkler system. Facilities Management was notified for repairs.
