Melanie Curry
Melanie Curry is originally from Detroit, Michigan, but was raised in Atlanta, Georgia. Her major is journalism with a minor in publishing. She currently serves as the Deputy Arts Editor. She founded the Person of Color Column in late 2018. She has used the POC column to shed light on social and political issues that affect African Americans. Additionally, she writes for two other magazines on campus including Your Magazine and Index Magazine. She has interned at Hers Magazine in Atlanta, Georgia and Boston Magazine in Boston, Massachusetts. When she is not writing or editing articles, Curry loves to drink bubble tea and hang out with her friends. She hopes to become an ethnographic journalist who focuses on global and national issues in the future.
