Emerson groups took a jaunt to Dorchester March 21, offering entertainment for a family night at St. Mark’s Church.

Jumpstart and College Bound Dorchester, two organizations geared toward sharing early education resources, hosted the event. The groups provided information for families about opportunities for childhood education and aimed to get the children interested in learning.

Noteworthy, one of Emerson’s a capella groups, brought its brand of backing-trackless music to the church. The college’s children’s theater troupe Kidding Around presented an adaptation of Davy Crockett.

Representatives from the Boston Public Library also attended to encourage the youngsters to read.
