The Student Government Association voted unanimously Tuesday to approve Melissa Pappas as Spiritual Life Commissioner, a position vacant since the start of the semester.
Pappas, a sophomore visual and media arts major, is also a member of the Emerson Christian Fellowship, which is how she found out about the open position at SGA.
“I think that spiritual life at Emerson is overlooked,” said Pappas during the SGA meeting.
She said her goal is to unite the SGA and the Emerson Christian Fellowship as well as other religious organizations on campus like the Newman Club and Hillel.
Pappas said she also wants to work with multicultural organizations on campus to make them more aware of spiritual life at Emerson.
“I want people to know the spiritual life center is open to them,” she said. “I’m really excited about helping out in any way I can.”
