Emerson College Police Department announced that “the investigation at the State Transportation Building has been completed and the building is now open to the public” in an email sent to the Emerson community Friday morning.
The circumstances of the death are still unknown to the public.
A police investigation is ongoing in the ground floor of the State Transportation Building Thursday morning that “may impact [the] ability to access Emerson College facilities on the second floor,” the Emerson College Police Department (ECPD) wrote in a community-wide email.
At 7 a.m., a person fell from “an unspecified height” and was pronounced dead on the scene by Boston EMS, according to the Massachusetts State Police. The Suffolk District Attorney’s Office said there was nothing “suspicious” about the incident
“There is no danger to the Emerson Community, I ask that anyone on campus avoid this area while the police investigation continues,” the statement from ECPD Deputy Chief Robert Bousquet read.
The transportation building is located next to Emerson, as the adjacent 2 Boylston Place alley is a shared space between the college and the city.
ECPD told The Beacon they could not “comment on any investigation being conducted by another agency” but that they will notify the Emerson community when the area is clear.
