Pete Doherty shambles toward a clean life

Many people swear off their respective vices daily; precious few, however, have had such a public affair with narcotics as Doherty.,Earlier this week, after spending nine days in jail, Pete Doherty told news outlets that he was finally going to get clean.

Many people swear off their respective vices daily; precious few, however, have had such a public affair with narcotics as Doherty.

Although his name might not be commonplace here, Doherty is perhaps best known in his home of the United Kingdom for his tabloid and gossip page appearances, due to his high profile relationship with supermodel Kate Moss and his infamous addictions to crack and heroin.

He is also, however, a talented singer/songwriter who has fronted two successful and influential bands (the most recent offering from his group Babyshambles, Down in Albion, came out in the US on Tuesday.)
