Slippery sidewalks and towering snowbanks once again greeted Bostonians in the wake of the record setting Blizzard Hernando. While Rhode Island, Connecticut, and Southeast Mass. took the brunt of the snow and winds, Boston still got nearly 17 inches of snow.
After 50 mph wind gusts and whiteout conditions on Monday, the city woke up to a sunny winter wonderland on Tuesday. Many took advantage of the clear skies and the second day of canceled school or work. While the Winter Olympics closing ceremonies were underway, Boston had its own winter sport fun. From launching into the air off the Soldiers and Sailors Monument hill to skiing in the streets, Boston isn’t done with the snow yet.
Emerson College cancelled Monday classes and resorted to online classes for Tuesday, following other Boston school closures.
