Craig Letourneau, the head coach for both the men’s and women’s volleyball teams, said he is resigning from his position effective July 1.
The 35-year-old said he accepted a job to coach the Wheaton College women’s volleyball team and will start there on August 15.
Letourneau said the main reason for his departure is his hour and a half, sometimes two-hour commute to work. Letourneau lives in Connecticut, with his wife and two small children.
In his four years at Emerson, Letourneau led the 2009 women’s volleyball team to a Great Northeast Athletic Conference Championship, and built the inaugural men’s volleyball team three years ago.
