Tuesday, Sept. 15

A Securitas officer reported to the Emerson College Police Department that a person walked by the security post in the Paramount Building without tapping their ID. ECPD searched for the person but were unable to find them.

Massachusetts Institute of Technology Police informed ECPD that they had arrested an Emerson student for attempting to steal a bicycle from their campus.  

Wednesday, Sept 16

A student had their bicycle stolen from a sign post on the sidewalk in front of Piano Row.

Thursday, Sept. 17

ECPD and the Boston Fire Department responded to a fire alarm at the Colonial Building dorm. Upon arrival ECPD and BFD determined it actually came from 104 Boylston Street, caused by contractors working in the area. There was no fire.

Saturday Sept. 19

ECPD removed a person who was acting suspiciously inside the alley near the Walker Building’s Boylston Place entrance.

ECPD questioned a person that had punched another person in the face outside of 216 Tremont Street. The victim of the altercation refused to cooperate with the department, and the suspect was released. Neither party had any Emerson affiliation.  

ECPD investigated a report of a homeless person exposing himself on the sidewalk near Piano Row.  

An ECPD officer found a cut lock on a sign pole in front of the Ansin building. An inspection of camera footage revealed that at 3:47 a.m., three unknown males cut the bike lock and stole a bicycle. The owner is unknown at this time.

Sunday Sept. 20

ECPD confiscated an abandoned purple Schwinn Ranger bicycle that was left inside Allen’s Alley.

A student reported the theft of their cellular phone from the Chinatown MBTA station at around 2 a.m.

A student reported the theft of their cellular phone inside Dunkin Donuts on Washington Street.

Monday, Sept. 21

A student reported being victim of an assault after they refused to give a person asking for money in the vicinity of Dunkin Donuts at 80 Boylston Street. The student was not injured.

A student reported having a small purse stolen while inside Panera Bread on Stuart Street.

A student reported seeing a man taking photographs of her while in the Public Garden.
