Big win for hockey club

The win marked the first time Emerson has beaten Berklee, avenging three previous losses to the team’s top rival.,The Emerson hockey club team defeated Berklee College of Music last night, 5-3, in front of a large crowd at Boston University’s Walter Brown Arena.

The win marked the first time Emerson has beaten Berklee, avenging three previous losses to the team’s top rival.

Sophomore Alan Gwizdowski scored two goals and freshman Greg Cohen played solid in goal for the win. Team captain Matt Porter said his team was just more prepared.

“We just got up for this,” he said. “We talked about it before the game. We came in focused. It was our game from start to finish.”

The team plays again tonight against Tufts University at Simoni Rink in Cambridge. Game time is 11:00 p.m.
