C-Store relocates to Max Cafe

The Emerson C-Store offers a wide variety of snacks options for students—from potato chips to sushi—at its new location in the Max Mutchnick Campus Center.

Located on the second floor of the Piano Row residence hall due to the two year renovation of the Little Building, the C-Store at the Max Cafe now has about four times more space, filled with aisles, freezers, coolers, and coffee machines. The store offers more options for food, drinks, and other snacks.

“I think it’s a good location and a great opportunity to provide more services to our students,” Erik Muurisepp, the associate dean and director of housing and campus life said.

In addition to the added space, the C-Store now also provides more options such as Simply to Go items which consist of pre-made sandwiches and salads, sushi, a free frozen yogurt station, and fresh fruit and yogurt platters. The C-Store also has vegan, organic, and local products available for purchase.

“The old C-Store got us by, but it didn’t really provide lots of options for people,” Duncan Pollock, the assistant vice president for facilities and campus services said. “So it was nice to be able to take the Max Cafe and keep it kind of the Max, but to also expand the store so people have both those options.”

“Now that the Little Building is closed, I think that this is really the best place to have [the C-Store] located,” Pollock said.

The C-Store is open everyday from 11 a.m. until 2 a.m.. It accepts Board Bucks, ECCash, cash, and credit cards.

“It’s been a great remodel of the space, in addition to what we offer in the Paramount Cafe and the 2 Boylston Cafe,” Muurisepp said.
