Caf#233; on the Common loses at least $30,000 per year

The Emerson Cafeacute;’s summer food cart has lost between $30,000 and $35,000 per year for the past 11 years, according to Emerson officials.

Margaret Ing, associate vice president of community and governmental relations, said the college plans to run the cafeacute; for another three years because of a contract with the city of Boston.
