Monday Feb. 23

An Emerson College police officer found that a glass panel of the former Remington’s restaurant front door at 124 Boylston St. had been shattered.  Facilities management was notified to repair it.

The Emerson College Police Department and facilities management were notified about a student trapped inside an elevator in the Tufte Building. A facilities worker was able to reset the elevator and free the student. 

Tuesday Feb. 24

Securitas reported to ECPD that an unknown person had gained entry into the Paramount Center and was on the third floor. A Securitas manager was able to find the person and ask him to leave before ECPD’s arrival.

ECPD and facilities management investigated a report of a burning smell in the Paramount Center.  ECPD and facilities management were able to smell a faint odor of something that may have burnt or melted inside an elevator, and thought the smell may have come from the elevator’s circuit board. The elevator was monitored for some time but the odor never returned.

Wednesday Feb. 25

ECPD responded to a panic alarm at the WERS station.  It appeared the alarm was accidently activated.

Thursday Feb. 26

A staff member had college property stolen from their office in the Ansin Building. 

A student had personal property stolen while walking around 62 Boylston St.

Friday Feb. 27

A staff member in the Walker Building reported receiving several strange telephone calls from a female caller trying to get information on the Boston Marathon bombing. 

ECPD officers investigated a report of a man walking around the Colonial Building carrying a shopping bag with what appeared to be a black toy gun with an orange tip.  ECPD searched the area and didn’t find anything, and a review of ECPD’s security cameras revealed the gun was a toy.

Saturday Feb. 28

An ECPD officer on patrol found the lobby door to Dunkin’ Donuts was partly open at 2:35 a.m. ECPD searched the area and the premises was secured.
