Tuesday, Sept. 29

A student reported that a person pushed her in an attempt to steal her personal property while walking on Avery Street near Mason Street. The student was not injured, and the suspect did not steal any items belonging to the student.

A student reported that while jogging on the Charles River Esplanade, they were grabbed by an unknown suspect. The student was not injured. Massachusetts State Police were notified of the incident.

A student reported the theft of personal items on the Boston Common while leaving them unattended during a workout.

The Office of Housing and Residence Life and the Emerson College Police Department investigated a strong odor of marijuana coming from a suite in the Little Building. Occupants of the suite turned over several marijuana cigarettes to ECPD.

Friday, Oct. 2

ECPD found that someone had knocked over a stanchion in front of the Cutler Majestic Theater. Facilities Management was notified for repair.

Sunday, Oct. 4

ECPD investigated a report of a smoke detector sounding inside a suite in the Little Building. Upon arrival ECPD found the students had been using a vaporizer while smoking inside their suite which caused the smoke detector to activate. There was no fire alarm activation.

Monday, Oct. 5

A student reported being robbed while on a MBTA Green Line train.The student said an unknown male pushed her and grabbed her backpack and camera from her shoulder. The student was uninjured, and she was able to retrieve their belongings at a following stop.

A student reported having a problem with a passenger while riding the MBTA. The suspect was making the student feel uncomfortable. The MBTA police were notified, and they will be handling the investigation.

An ECPD officer found an unsecured bicycle inside the bike storage room. The owner was located and asked to secure it.
