Thursday, Sept. 1

A student reported being followed to the Little Building by a suspicious person after getting off a MBTA train at the Boylston stop.

 

Saturday, Sept. 3 

Emerson College Police Department officers removed a person who was acting suspiciously in the rear of Allen’s alley near several loading docks.

 

Monday, Sept. 5

Boston Fire Department and ECPD responded to Piano Row residence hall for a fire alarm. The cause of the fire alarm was burnt popcorn left inside a microwave too long.  

 

Tuesday, Sept. 6

A contractor reported the theft of their company laptop while it was left unattended inside the construction area at 120 Boylston St.

 

A student reported having their bicycle stolen while secured to a pole near the Dunkin’ Donuts at the corner of Boylston and Tremont Streets.

 

Wednesday, Sept. 7

BFD and ECPD responded to a fire alarm at the Colonial Building. The cause of the fire alarm was determined to be a faulty smoke alarm.

 

Thursday, Sept. 8

ECPD confiscated drug paraphernalia from a student in the Piano Row residence hall after a resident assistant smelled an odor of marijuana coming from the suite.

 

Saturday, Sept. 10

A student reported the theft of their bicycle that was secured to a rack on Boston Common across from the Colonial Building.

 

An ECPD officer interviewed a suspicious person covering bicycles secured to the bike rack across from the Colonial Building.

 

Sunday, Sept. 11

BFD and ECPD responded to Piano Row for a fire alarm after a student burned food in a microwave oven.  

 

Wednesday, Sept. 14

A third student reported having bicycle parts stolen while securing the bicycle on public property in the vicinity of the college. ECPD sent out a campus advisory to alert the community of the thefts.

 

Thursday, Sept. 15

A cleaner working in 216 Tremont St notified ECPD of three people trespassing inside. ECPD found three students inside the building after it closed and asked them to leave.

 

Friday, Sept. 16

ECPD investigated a report of a trash barrel fire in front of the Little Building. Upon arrival officers found the trash barrel smoldering from the careless disposal of cigarettes. Officers were able to extinguish the burning trash with the use of a fire extinguisher.  

 

Sunday, Sept. 18

A pedestrian approached an ECPD officer and stated that he saw a suspicious person carrying a knife and threatening a person while inside the Boston Common. Boston Police were notified of the incident and given the direction of travel of the suspect.
