Sunday, Jan. 1

Emerson College Police Department responded to a report of a person trespassing in the construction site at 2 Boylston Pl. ECPD found the trespasser and removed the individual from the area. The individual was told to stay away from the college property.

 

Monday, Jan. 2

ECPD and Boston Fire Department responded to a fire alarm in the Little Building. An investigation revealed the alarm was caused by steam coming into the building from a draining hose. There was no fire.

 

Wednesday, Jan. 4

Facilities Management reported minor damage to the Ansin Building. The damage is consistent with a motor vehicle crash.

 

Monday, Jan. 9   

A staff member reported to ECPD that they received an email that could have been part of a phishing scam. The email was investigated and forwarded to Emerson’s Information Technology.

 

Tuesday, Jan. 10

Staff members reported that a community member was robbed while walking in the vicinity of Summer and Arch Streets.

Staff at Barnes & Noble at Emerson College reported a suspicious man inside the store to ECPD. Upon ECPD’s arrival, the man fled the store. Nothing appeared to have been stolen.

 

Wednesday, Jan 11

The Office of Housing and Residence Life turned over drug paraphernalia found in a student suite inside the Little Building to ECPD.

 

Thursday, Jan. 12   

Staff at Barnes & Noble at Emerson College reported that several sweatshirts were stolen. ECPD is investigating the incident.

 

Sunday, Jan. 15

A student reported personal property stolen from their room during winter break.

 

Tuesday, Jan. 17

ECPD investigated a person who was reportedly harassing people on Boylston Street. The individual told officers that they was coming off a heroin high. The person refused medical attention and left the area.

 

Thursday, Jan. 19

ECPD investigated a report of a possible missing student. An investigation revealed the student was not missing.

 

Friday, Jan. 20

A student reported the theft of personal property that was left inside the dining hall.

 

Saturday, Jan. 21

ECPD found that someone had vandalized the construction site of the college’s new dining hall.  Facilities Management was notified of the graffiti.

A student reported being harassed and followed to Panera Bread after refusing to speak to a man. The student described the man to ECPD. Police could not find anyone matching that description.
