Emerson named the new interim Vice President of Enrollment Management in a community-wide email Friday morning.
Justin Sharifipour, former associate vice president and dean of undergraduate admission, will immediately replace current vice president of enrollment management Ruthanne Madsen. Madsen will depart the college this month to join Babson College as vice president of enrollment management.
“Justin is well positioned to further the vital work of the Enrollment Management team,” wrote interim President Bill Gilligan in the email announcing Sharifipour’s appointment.
As interim vice president, Sharifipour will direct the enrollment management team, which includes over 50 members of staff across eight departments: undergraduate admission, graduate admission, enrollment data, operations and technology, financial aid, student accounts, and student success.
Since joining Emerson in 2008, Sharifipour has occupied numerous roles including information analyst/financial reporting analyst and director of enrollment systems and data. As the director of enrollment systems and data—his first role in the college’s enrollment management office—Sharifipour worked to increase and diversify enrollment at Emerson. He also helped launch the slate admissions consumer relationship software and student financial aid portal.
Sharifipour holds a Master’s degree in Operation and Technology Management from Boston University and a Bachelor’s of Science from Northeastern University.
