Emerson will hold all in-person classes online Monday, in anticipation of a snow storm scheduled to engulf Boston tomorrow afternoon.

The college announced the shift in a Sunday night email. All college buildings with the exception of 172 Tremont, the Dining Center, and residence halls will be shuttered, according to the email. Emerson expects non-emergency personnel staff members to work from home, the email said.

The National Weather Service Boston upgraded their “winter storm watch” to a “winter storm warning” Sunday after forecasts showed more than a foot of snow could fall in eastern Massachusetts and Rhode Island.

Boston Mayor Martin J. Walsh declared a snow emergency Sunday evening, and urged residents to abide by snow regulations.

The snow is anticipated to begin around 1 p.m. Monday in Boston.

The college’s testing center will be closed on Monday, Assistant Vice President for Campus Life and “COVID Lead” Erik Muurisepp said in an email. More information on how to reschedule tests will be announced later in the day.

Updated 2/01 to reflect the closing of the testing center Monday, which was previously announced to be open.
