Instead of looking up Emerson extracurriculars on Facebook’s fan pages, check out Max Mozes’ tacktivity.com; a database profiling all Emerson student groups.

“You get like 10 Facebook invitations and that kind of devalues all of them,” said Mozes.

The name “tacktivity” came from a combination of a tackboard, the old school place to advertise, and activity, therefore tacktivity! A place to tack student organization activity.

He was ready to get started with his project but needed the tools to do so which is where Emerson Experience in Entrepreneurship (E3) came in to assist him.

“What I like about E3 is that it’s really broken down for you to understand,” said Mozes.

It’s a step-by-step process, which involves a marketing plan, sales plan, finances, consumers and more. Having a business background was beneficial for Mozes when taking part in this program, he said.

“Now more than ever, people are trying to make their own money,” said Mozes, “it’s the entrepreneurial time.”
