Emerson College was ranked the 10th best regional school in the North by the U.S. News and World Report on Sept. 8, and also received high rankings from Forbes and The Princeton Review.

Emerson moved from ninth to 10th in The Hollywood Reporter’s list of the top 25 film schools in the United States on July 30. Wesleyan University, which was ranked 15th on the 2014 list, is now ranked ninth. It was one of two changes to the top ten list.

Forbes ranked Emerson 13th on its list of Most Entrepreneurial on July 29 within their category of start-up schools and cited the Emerson Experience in Entrepreneurship, or E3 program, calling it a “year-long business bootcamp course.” In this class, students build and launch a business venture, according to Emerson’s website.

“That’s awesome, especially at a film school, to have such a highly ranked business program, which is such an opposite side of the brain that you’re using,” Jade Zaroff, a junior performing arts major with an entrepreneurship minor, said. “It’s a really wonderful honor.”

The Princeton Review included Emerson in its rankings for third best college radio station, and fourth best college theater program on Aug. 3. The college was also ranked 19th on the list entitled “Is It Food?” in contrast to their “Best Campus Food” list.

“For dining halls, it’s not that good,” Libby Shanahan, a freshman journalism major, said. “They have a budget and they can’t exceed it so I get that it’s a struggle.”

The college was also number two for the “Students [who] Study the Least” list by The Princeton Review.

“We don’t have things we really need to study,” Shanahan said. “Science and math you really need to study for, but I don’t take any science or math classes.”

The Princeton Review also listed Emerson as the most LGBT-friendly school in the country.
