Free for the Weekend offers a drug-free deal

This week, the student, faculty and business project Free for the Weekend is having its 10th anniversary of substance-free events that promote a healthy lifestyle and are free of charge.,Students at Emerson College have the chance to trade in a weekend of wild and crazy parties for a few days free of toxins, drugs, alcohol and cigarettes.

The series kicked off yesterday with comedian Judd Laipply performing a sketch at the Bill Bordy Theatre.

Later on, students were able to test their intelligence at “Got a Clue” Trivia Night in the Little Building dining hall.

Although many of the Free for the Weekend offerings are centered on encouraging participants to be substance-free, the campaign’s planning committee, which included Emerson staff and students, made it a priority this year to include topics that went beyond anti-drug awareness.
