Hilary Kee and Dana Cornelius

Marketing majors are among the most motivated of Emerson students; Hilary Kee and Dana Cornelius are no exceptions.

Kee, from Virginia, and Cornelius, from Illinois, formed an unlikely friendship that started in a coincidental meeting on the eighth floor of the Paramount building.

“We realized we were kind of on the same page already when we found out we both liked the same music and were in the same major. Definitely was one of the moments I knew we’d be good friends,” says Kee.

With less than a year of experience under their belts as freshman, the two are wasting no time: they own and run their own marketing company, which they named Perception.

Perception is a creative consulting company for independent artists and people with innovative ideas that other companies may not cater to. Perception’s goal is to help build upon these fresh ideas.

Both are music and social media enthusiasts, and they’re planning to integrate this into the creative-spirit-inspired company.

Their clientele includes musicians and radio show hosts, and they are currently working on a website which is scheduled to launch in the next few months.

Kee and Cornelius are both great examples of Emerson diversity, and enthusiasm to get involved on and off campus. With a handful of clients already, it looks like they’re on their way to bringing their Emerson spirit into the marketing world of creative ideas. Keep up the great work, ladies!
