Incident Journal

The Incident Journal is provided to the Beacon weekly by the Emerson College Police Department. Beacon staff edit the Incident Journal for style and clarity, but not for content.

 

Monday, March 13

The Office of Housing and Residence Life and the Emerson College Police Department investigated a report of a triggered smoke detector inside a Little Building suite where there was marijuana smoke and drug paraphernalia in plain view. The paraphernalia was confiscated.

 

Wednesday, March 15

A student reported that college-owned camera equipment was stolen from an off-campus apartment.

 

OHRL confiscated a glass bong from a student inside the Colonial Building and gave it to ECPD.

 

Thursday, March 16

OHRL confiscated drug paraphernalia and what appeared to be marijuana from a student inside their Little Building suite and gave it to ECPD.

 

Friday, March 17

A pedestrian notified ECPD that a vehicle had struck an ECPD cruiser and fled the scene. ECPD identified the vehicle involved and the owner will be summoned for a hit and run.

 

A staff member reported to ECPD that equipment inside the WECB radio station was vandalized.

 

Saturday, March 18

A person visiting the college reported being assaulted near the Visitor Center by an unknown person. The guest was not injured and declined medical attention.

 

Securitas stopped a person from using their friend’s college ID to try to enter a residence hall. The person was removed from the Little Building.

 

Sunday, March 19

An ECPD officer discovered an exterior door to the Little Building open. A search of the area showed no signs of a break-in and the officer secured the location.
