The struggling 2-12 team had another one of its games rescheduled, as its April 7 game against Daniel Webster University was rescheduled for tomorrow. The contest was pushed back due to a number of factors, including poor weather and the inability to find a field to play the game.

The Lions have had two other games rescheduled this season: a March 18 contest against Massachusetts Maritime Academy and a March 24 match versus Albertus Magnus College. In addition, the team has also experienced cancellations of games against Massachusetts Maritime on March 25 and at Gordon College on April 4.

The team must play 12 games before the April 24 start of the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Tournament, or it will be ineligible for further post-season play in the ECAC and NCAA tournaments.

With the schedule changes piling up, players are becoming annoyed with the lack of baseball being played.

“It’s tough because we want to play and we’ve been working hard,” said first baseman Pete Hall. “It’s tough to get into a routine when you’re not playing week in, week out, during the season.”

Infielder Brendan Lahr agreed the weather has been rough on the team.

“It’s hard to stay focused with all of our practices indoors,” Lahr said. “We can’t face live pitching, and we’re hitting the ball off a tee. We can’t go outside and actually play baseball.”
