To the editor:

Recently is has been circulating that I misinformed voters regarding my credentials as president of my high school class. It pains me to admit this is true. I was eager and ready to take on the mantel of class of 2015 president, and to do some good for my classmates in the semester to come. A tad too eager, I suppose. I embellished that particular part of my resume, and no more.

I want it to be clear that my platform aside from that lapse was wholly honest and sincere. I fully admit to my transgression, I do however take issue with how this inaccuracy is being portrayed. Never once was my embellishment meant to be the cornerstone of my platform, or even a major part of it. I always stood by my three pillars of reform—dining hall cleanliness and options, dorm amenities and financial aid. 

I will finish by quoting my former opponent Ben Halls from the Beacon article written about me:  “I know he isn’t a liar. He may have told a lie, but he is not a liar, and there is a big difference.” There is a big difference. I may have made a mistake, but that doesn’t mean I don’t care about this school, it doesn’t mean I’m a dishonest or untrustworthy person and it certainly doesn’t mean that I won’t be running again.
