Dr. Ronald Korvas has been named vice president of development and alumni relations, according to the Emerson website.

In June, Korvas will take over from Keira McClain and Beth Garvin, who co-held the position in the interim. Development and alumni relations will also be renamed as the office of institutional advancement.

Both the office and Korvas will broaden the scope of work involved in developing and launching the college’s inaugural comprehensive fundraising campaign, according to the site.

Korvas is currently the vice president for Institutional Advancement at Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida. He has held the position since 2011, and in his time there has created a $150 million fundraising effort.

Prior to that, Korvas worked at Willamette University in Salem, Oregon, and orchestrated the school’s largest fundraising campaign, raising $131 million. Emerson’s President M. Lee Pelton was president of Willamette prior to coming to Emerson.

“I had the pleasure of working with Ron on Willamette’s campaign and know firsthand that he will be a true partner to everyone in our community and a superb matchmaker in aligning the philanthropic interests of our donors with the institutional priorities of Emerson,” Pelton wrote in a message to the Emerson community.

Korvas will lead a team that is engaged in all aspects of fundraising, including corporate and foundation giving, development communications, events, and overseeing alumni relations.
