Pat Morita, Karate Kid#039;s Miyagi, dies at 73

Ralph Macchio will have to learn to “wax on and wax off” from another sensei. Actor and comedian Noriyuki “Pat” Morita died last Thursday at the age of 73. Best known for his role in the Karate Kid series as Mr. Kesuke Miyagi, Morita passed away in his Las Vegas home from natural causes.

The prolific stand-up comedian- turned-actor starred in a variety of titles, from the 70s sitcom Happy Days, to voice acting in the 1998 animated Disney movie Mulan. Capitalizing on his Asian-American ethnicity, many of Morita’s roles were stereotypical and clich
