Photos: Pro-Israel protesters gather on Boston Common

On Monday, Oct. 9, thousands of community members from the Greater Boston area gathered on Boston Common to show their support for Israel. The event, “Solidarity For Israel Under Fire,” organized by Combined Jewish Philanthropies, had the support of many local and federal politicians including Senator Elizabeth Warren, Senator Ed Markey, and Governor Maura Healey, who all made appearances as speakers. All speakers voiced similar messages about supporting Israel’s right to defend itself from Hamas, the militant group currently governing the Gaza Strip since 2007.
