Thousands of people flocked to Washington, D.C., on Jan. 20 for the second presidential inauguration of Donald Trump.
Despite the freezing weather and indoor ceremony, people huddled together on the National Mall watching a live stream of the inauguration from their phones. The crowd of roughly 1,000 people was a sea of M.A.G.A hats, Trump 2024 beanies, and U.S. Flags. Throughout the swearing-in and Trump’s speech, chants of “U.S.A.” and “Trump” were sporadically thrown. Within the crowd were people from two dozen states, including some who had driven over 10 hours to watch.
A few blocks away at Capital One Arena, a crowd of over 20,000 people did the same as they waited for the president to join them in the arena, where he delivered a speech and signed several executive orders.
