Purple Key Leadership Society inductees announced

Twenty-eight seniors have been selected to be inducted into Emerson College’s Purple Key Leadership Society, which recognizes students’ academic achievement and strong civic engagement.

In order for students to earn this achievement, they need to have completed at least 88 credits prior to the fall 2014 semester with a 3.0 or better cumulative grade point average. The students also need to be in good social standing with the school, according to Ronald Ludman, dean of students.

Students who met the qualifications were invited to submit an application for consideration in the fall. Applications were reviewed by a committee, which included students of the junior class and members from academic and student affairs. The criteria included: leadership and service; academic achievement; citizenship and civic engagement; and future leadership potential.

The following students will be recognized during the annual Emerson Recognition and Achievement, or ERA, Awards ceremony on Sunday, April 26: Jamie Alberici, Christian Bergren-Aragon, Kristin Brice, Julianna Buck, Kelsey Buckley, Caitlyn Budnick, Dennis Connors, Amanda Cordero, Zach Ehrlich, Emily Engelhardt, Erin Farley, Lindsay Geller, Christopher Gillespie, Jacob Hines, Briana Jennings, Kassandra King, Caroline Lacy, John Lewis, Abagael McCauley, Mariesa Negosanti, Naomi Petrovsky, Sarah Rocha, Angelika Romero, Andrew Schlebecker, Maggie Smolka, Ryan Sweeney, Emily Wald, and Kelly Young.
