Ross editorial defames Emerson brand

RE “Ross doesn’t want you to live with your Friends,” page 4, Feb. 26: The editorial regarding Mike Ross’ effort to ban five or more students in one housing unit made inflammatory references to Jim Crow laws and the hoarding of European Jews into ghettos by the Nazis. Understanding that these comparisons were not likening the significance of Ross’ legislation to the aforementioned hate crimes, it is still lacking in taste and respect for readers to compare the oppression of violently persecuted socio-ethnic demographics with college kids in a housing crunch.

Having written for iThe Beacon/i, I appreciate that the editorial process scrutinizes everything published, but on this one, someone must have been asleep at the switch.
