The Emerson college women’s basketball team lost last night 70-41 to Emmanuel College in the first round of the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Tournament.

Sophomore guard Allie Bernier and freshman guard Maude Okrah led the Lions with seven points each.

Emerson Head Coach Melissa Hart said her squad did not play relaxed and were unsure of themselves.

“Frankly, I think we just played a little intimidated,” Hart said. “I think we were uptight. We were tentative and you can’t be tentative against a team that’s going for the jugular.”
