SGA appoints new members

Two key appointments were made to the Student Government Association at their meeting Tuesday.

Annie Makielski, a sophomore currently studying at Kasteel Well, was unanimously approved as the External Programs Commissioner.

Ian Mandt, a freshman visual and media arts major and former Beacon correspondent, was appointed vice treasurer. Current Executive Treasurer John Depa, a junior visual and media arts major, spoke in favor of Mandt.

Emily Solomon, executive president, led a debriefing on the cultural competency discussion held in last week’s meeting. Members also discussed student focus groups with the Emerson College Police Department, future appointments, and increasing SGA visibility on campus.

There was not a reporter from the Beacon present at this week’s meeting. All information was taken from the minutes provided by Executive Secretary Lauren Lewis.
