SGA represented student interests this year

As the president of the Student Government Association, I would like a chance to respond to the piece regarding SGA in today’s Beacon (“New rules, members slow SGA progress”). It concerns me that the students of Emerson are not aware of how tirelessly SGA has worked to represent your interests, and I would like to share with you some of our achievements this semester.,Dear Editor,

As the president of the Student Government Association, I would like a chance to respond to the piece regarding SGA in today’s Beacon (“New rules, members slow SGA progress”). It concerns me that the students of Emerson are not aware of how tirelessly SGA has worked to represent your interests, and I would like to share with you some of our achievements this semester.

I am still learning the ins-and-outs of being president, but I believe that the current SGA board has accomplished a lot since the beginning of the school year.

Your representatives have fought for gender-neutral bathrooms on campus; approved 3 new clubs as SGA-official organizations; created a Business Services committee to address issues in the Dining Hall, C-Store and Max Cafeacute; and created advisory boards for every major at Emerson.

I am extremely proud of your SGA representatives and am looking forward to working with all of them next semester to continue to make Emerson a better place.
