Show Times: Bright Lights, Visual Storytellers

Photojournalist Rick Macomber was at ground zero on 9/11, the beaches of Normandy for the 50th anniversary of D-Day, and Cambodian refugee camps in the wake of the Khmer Rouge. Now he is bringing those images and their stories to the Bright Family Screening room at the Paramount Center.

This is the first event for the new “Bright Lights” series, sponsored by the visual and media arts department, which will continue to screen films in the Bright Family Screening Room throughout the semester.

The evening will feature a special presentation by Rick Macomber, an Emmy award-winning photojournalist for CBS Boston. Macomber will share his experiences and speak about the changes facing TV news photojournalism. A question and answer session will follow Macomber’s presentation.

The night also feature a “Show and Tell” screening session of short films by New England-based filmmakers including Sid Levin, Paul Antico, Ben Eckstein and others, along with award-winning Emerson alumni Nathaniel Hansen and Matthew Hashiguchi.
