Undergraduate admissions director greets community

Emerson faculty and staff gathered last Friday for a meet-and-greet in the Little Building’s Beard Room with newly-hired Director of Undergraduate Admission Michael Lynch.

The informal event was open to both students and faculty, according to an email sent out earlier in the day by Ruthanne Madsen, vice president for enrollment management. However, it was attended entirely by faculty and staff.

Lynch said he would have welcomed student attendance, but understood that meeting with faculty was also valuable.

“I’d liken it to a quick networking event,” Lynch said. “Based on folks I’ve met and conversations I’ve started, I can build off that and set up some future conversations that will help me get to know Emerson through the eyes of the faculty departments.”

The event ran from 12:30 to 2 p.m. and around 20 people stayed at the event until the last half hour.

“It was great to meet a lot of folks that seemed genuinely pleased to say hello and get to know me,” Lynch said, “and for me to get to know them.”
