Emerson recently launched a community-building initiative and updated its policies on campus demonstrations, institutional neutrality, and the student code of conduct.
The college is inviting community members to be involved in the conversation to “help inform the future of these policies,” the website says.
Here’s how Emersonians can provide feedback on the initiative and new policies.
What feedback is the college seeking?
The college is seeking feedback for its EmersonTogether initiative as well as its new policies for campus demonstrations, institutional neutrality, and the student code of conduct.
Feedback may include ideas on events, discussions, trainings, performances, and exhibits or specific questions on the initiative and policies.
Where can I submit questions and feedback?
For ideas and questions about the EmersonTogether initiative, Emerson community members, including students, faculty, staff, administrators, and alumni, can contact the EmersonTogether team at [email protected].
For feedback on the college’s updated policies on institutional neutrality, campus demonstrations, and the student code of conduct, community members can fill out this online form.
In addition, the college will host the first “Community Conversation” event on Sept. 6 at 3 p.m., with a location to be announced.
During the event, the EmersonTogether leadership team will provide information and engage in a discussion about the new initiative.
Topics of discussion will include feedback provided by community members ahead of the event.
Who will review the feedback?
For the community-building initiative, the content and coordination teams will review feedback sent to the EmersonTogether email to see how the initiative can address concerns and implement suggestions for improvement.
The interim policies will be finalized at some point this year, but it is unclear when.
