In an emailed statement to student leaders Friday, Assistant Director of Student Life Andy Donahue announced he is leaving the college in May to pursue a position at Providence College.
“Over the next two months, I will be working with you and the SEAL team on transition plans for your organizations, fraternities, and sororities moving forward,” Donahue said in the statement. “I have had a wonderful run here at Emerson and I am so grateful to have the opportunity to work with you and learn from you during my time here.”
Vice President and Dean of Campus Life Jim Hoppe said in an interview Friday afternoon that he and the rest of the college will miss Donahue because of how much value he added to the campus.
“It’s conflicting because while I am very excited for him personally and professionally, it’s sad to see him go,” Hoppe said. “He’s a tremendous asset and he will be difficult to replace.”
Donahue and Director of Student Engagement and Leadership Jason Meier declined to comment.
