Incident Journal

The Incident Journal is provided to the Beacon weekly by the Emerson College Police Department. Beacon staff edit the Incident Journal for style and clarity, but not for content.

 

Monday, Oct 2

The Emerson College Police Department, Facilities Management, and the Boston Fire Department freed a student trapped inside a 2 Boylston Place elevator. The elevator was taken out of service until contractors could investigate it.

 

Wednesday, Oct. 4

A student reported that a man unaffiliated with the college bumped into them and then flailed his arms, striking the student in the head. The student was not injured.

 

Thursday, Oct. 5

ECPD and Facilities Management freed a student trapped inside a 2 Boylston Place elevator.  Facilities took the elevator out of service until it could be repaired.

A student reported having a tire stolen from their bicycle, which was chained to a signpost.

 

Friday, Oct. 6

ECPD removed a person trespassing in the Piano Row residence hall. The person left without incident.

 

Saturday, Oct. 7

An ECPD officer on patrol found the rear entrance to the Colonial Residence Hall open. ECPD officers completed a check of the building. There were no signs of of a break in. The officer secured the door.

ECPD noticed that someone had struck the Hemenway Street shuttle van, causing minor scratches to a door.

 

Wednesday, Oct. 11

Several students reported being followed from the Boylston MBTA Station by an unknown person.

 

Saturday, Oct. 14

BFD and ECPD investigated a fire alarm inside the Cutler Majestic Theater. Dust had activated a smoke detector in a telecommunications room and set off the alarm.

 

Sunday, Oct. 15

Suffolk University Police informed ECPD of an incident involving a disruptive party in Beacon Hill that they responded to alongside the Boston Police Department. According to Suffolk University Police, several Emerson students participated in the party.
