Massachusetts reported 765 new COVID-19 cases and 13 deaths Monday. The day’s positivity rate per people tested was 3.2 percent, and the test positivity rate was 0.6 percent.

Cases rose sharply from 570 new positives reported Sunday and are much higher than the average of daily positives reported by the state throughout last week which was 514.

Infections ticked down last week following a surge in the state the week prior, which brought the largest single-day increase since May 30. But cases are still on the rise from early August.

Emerson did not publish COVID-19 data as the college was closed due to Indigenous People’s Day. The Tufts Medical Center testing facility was also closed in accordance with the holiday.
