A woman reported an alleged assault with attempt to rape in the Public Garden early Monday morning, Boston Police said.
The woman said a man put his hand over her mouth and made sexually explicit threats to her while she was walking in the garden, police wrote in a press release Monday afternoon. She said the man also attempted to remove an article of her clothing.
The woman escaped after freeing herself from the individual, who she described as a Black male in his twenties or thirties with short black dreadlocks and a slim to medium build. The BPD Sexual Assault Unit responded to the incident at around 6 a.m.
A Boston Police spokesperson said the department has not identified any suspects in the case as of Monday night and does not have any photos to aid the public in identifying the suspect.
Police said the investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to contact police.
