Tuesday, Oct. 2

The Emerson College Police Department and the Boston Fire Department responded to a fire alarm triggered by burnt food in a microwave at 12 Hemenway residence hall. There were no fires or injuries to report.

ECPD and BFD responded to a fire alarm in the Tufte Performance and Production Center. The cause of the alarm was undetermined. ECPD and BFD did not report any fires or injuries.

A community member reported being harassed while they walked from work to a train station on Tremont and Boylston Street.

Wednesday, Oct. 4

An ECPD officer witnessed and identified a student who almost struck a pedestrian by pouring liquid out of a Piano Row residence hall window. ECPD passed the incident to the Office of Community Standards for possible discipline.

Friday, Oct. 6

ECPD arrested a person fleeing from the BPD after the BPD attempted to arrest the person for a drug violation. ECPD officers found the suspect, who hid inside the walkway next to 2 Boylston Place residence hall. ECPD turned the suspect over to BPD.

Sunday, Oct. 7

ECPD secured a used hypodermic needle found on the sidewalk next to the rear exit of the 12 Hemenway residence hall.

ECPD responded to the 2 Boylston Place residence hall to investigate reports of a fire. Upon arrival, officers found that two students burned food inside a microwave, which caused a fire. The students retrieved a fire extinguisher from the hallway and extinguished any present flames. ECPD officers did not find signs of an existing fire and notified Facilities Management for clean up. Facilities Management replaced the used fire extinguisher.
