The Emerson College Police Department provides the Incident Journal to the Beacon every week. Beacon staff edit the Incident Journal for style and clarity but not for content.

Monday, Nov. 12

The Emerson College Police Department and the Boston Fire Department investigated a fire alarm at the Colonial residence hall. The alarm’s cause is undetermined; no injuries or fires were reported.

ECPD investigated a faint smell of gas coming from the 12 Hemenway residence hall. Facilities Management told the reporting parties that no gas lines exist near the building as it is heated by oil.

Tuesday, Nov. 13

ECPD investigated a report that two individuals were scammed of money. ECPD got the individuals their money back, and the individuals did not pursue criminal charges.

Wednesday, Nov. 14

ECPD investigated a report of a homeless person camped in front of a window at the Ansin Building. The person was asked to leave because they were taking a large portion of the public sidewalk.

ECPD and Facilities Management assisted three students trapped inside an elevator in the Colonial residence hall. They were freed without incident.
