Massachusetts reported 550 new coronavirus cases and 21 deaths Saturday, as case numbers continue to trend up in the state. The day’s positivity rate per people tested was 7.3 percent, and the test positivity rate was 4.3 percent. 

Cases fell from 702 Friday and are down slightly from 587 a week ago today. Infections topped 700 twice this week. 

The state’s positivity rates are the highest rates reported since Sept. 3. 

Emerson does not update its COVID-19 dashboard on the weekends as no new tests are administered at Tufts Medical Center.
