Emerson announced students can register guests for academic buildings using the new iVisitor Guest Registration system—a process different from the guest registration process for residential spaces.

In an email correspondence sent Wednesday from ECPD Deputy Chief Robert Casagrande, he explained the iVisitor system was created specifically for academic buildings, allowing students to register a guest in advance of their visit. Upon the guest’s arrival, students must escort them to the security desk.

To register a guest using the system, students simply enter their guest’s name, their own name, the date, and the time of the visit. Guests are also expected to present a state or federally-issued ID at the security desk.

Attendants at the security desk will provide a guest badge to the host and it is expected the host will accompany their guest the entire time they are in any academic building and on campus.

To register a guest in a residential building, students are still expected to use their housing portal.
